Mrs. Evelyn J. Edwards, age 90, Jonesborough, went to be with her loving Savior on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Washington County, Tennessee all her life. She was born on July 10, 1934, to James H. Street and Eveline Jackson Street. She was also preceded in death by her children’s father Master Sgt. Earl Eugene Ferren and husband Clinton N. Edwards, one brother, Norman Gerald Street, one sister, Barbara Jeanine Tittle and one grandson, Jerrod Byron Ferren.

Joyce, most of her life was a member of Keystone Freewill Baptist Church, until her health declined. She was also a member of Young at Heart Ladies Class.

She owned Ferren’s Grocery and later Boones Creek Shoe Center. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting and quilting. After retiring she was a caregiver for a lot of people she loved.

Survivors include three children, Terry E. Ferren (Stacey) of Gray; Tammy R. Shepard (Don) of Sulphur Spring and Keith A. Ferren of Gray; grandsons, Brandon Ferren (Alisha) of Johnson City, Chris Ferren (Kayla) of Nashville, Josh Ferren (Brandy) of Gray; granddaughter, Jessica Poarch and fiancé, Aaron Light of Limestone; great-grandchildren, Gabe, Ashlyn, Deacon and Harper; one brother, Roger Street (Sharon) of Sulphur Springs.

Graveside services will be conducted 12, noon, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Monte Vista Burial Park with Pastor Brandon Ferren officiating. Friends are requested to meet at Monte Vista Burial Park at 11:45 AM on Wednesday morning.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ferren, Josh Ferren, Deacon Ferren and Aaron Light.
