Leann Trea Adams

07/07/2024

Leann Trea Adams, of Jonesborough, TN, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 7, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home following a brief, but valiant, fight with cancer.

Her life began in Newport, TN on February 23, 1972; the third of four children born to Scott McClure and Evelyn Maloy McClure.
She was a 1990 graduate of Cocke County High School. Following the legacy of her athletic father, Trea excelled at her participation in basketball and cheerleading. She was also exceptionally smart and continued her education at East Tennessee State University.

Family was most important to Trea. She is survived by her loving and steadfast husband of 30 years, Michael Adams; daughters Makayla Adams and Catelyn Adams; sons Ezekiel Adams (Makayla) and Michael Adams (Abby Dockery); sisters Cecilia Reneé Kropff (Bill) of Chattanooga, TN and Stacye Shaleé Giles (Rusty) of Cosby, TN; brother Richard Shea McClure (Michelle) of Piney Flats, TN; brother-in-law BJ Stout (Cindy) of Jonesborough, TN; aunt Carolyne Fox of St. Petersburg, Florida, uncle Joe Maloy (Betty) of Big South Fork, TN, and Kenneth Maloy of Mint Hill, NC; aunt Brenda Kay Sampson (Bob) of Jonesborough, TN; many cousins, nephews, one niece, and one great-nephew, all who love and miss her dearly.

Trea made lifelong friends everywhere she volunteered and worked, including the Lamar community, Cherry Grove Baptist Church, The Crumley House, Jonesborough Middle School, Boones Creek Elementary, and Riparian.

Trea will be remembered for her beautiful smile, loving heart, fun spirit, and a laugh that could make anyone smile.

The family looks forward to receiving friends at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough on Saturday, July 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. A chapel service to celebrate Trea’s life will be held at 3:00 PM. Immediately following the service, family and friends will travel to Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough for a graveside service.

I didn't know Trae for very long, but it did not matter, she made me feel like family. From her lovely smiles to her dancing to Cyndi Lauper (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun) Trae truly was a joy to be around. It is a rare thing to meet someone with such a beautiful heart and she will be missed by many.
