Mr. Roger Dale McKinney, age 62, of Johnson City, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

He was born on May 20, 1962, in Johnson City, Tennessee, to the late Ernest and Reva Campbell McKinney.

Roger had a great love for Tennessee Football, Nascar, and playing golf. He loved 80s and 90s music, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd (Free Bird.) Roger was a bucket truck driver for Pike and Davis Elliott. He will be missed by his true and loyal friend, his dog, Smokey.

In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Fagan and Phyllis Bowman; brothers, Ernest McKinney Jr. and Donnie McKinney; great nieces, Tammy Bowman and Brandy McKinney; great nephew, Dr. Joe Carver.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Janice McKinney; brothers, Jerry McKinney (Sharon “Casey”) Tommy McKinney (Debbie); great nieces, Debbie Bowman, Misty Fagan, April Fagan, Heather McKinney; great nephews, David Howell, Mike Howell, Donald Fagan Jr., Jason Fagan, Mark Bowman, TR McKinney; many extended family including several great-great nieces and nephews.
