After retirement, he worked part time driving vans for CSX railroad and delivering flowers for Broyles Florist.

Danny enjoyed beagling and was a member of Tri-Cities Beagle Club and Greene County Beagle Club, serving various leadership and judging positions. He loved his Sunday School class and was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church, where he served in various ministries over the years, most recently the Food Pantry. He will be dearly missed and most remembered for how much he loved and cared for his family, especially his grandchildren.
