Ms. Lorrine Kay Miner, age 65, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was raised in Bumpass Cove and owned land in Telford for many years. She had several different professions over the years. Lorrine was a homemaker and a talented crafter who enjoyed making crafts and decorations with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader who was well versed in many popular novels, her favorite being those of horror master, Stephen King. She enjoyed watching true crime which she had dubbed "murder and mayhem.” She was also a master of Jeopardy and was known to be able to beat anyone. As well as reading she loved to write and post poems for others to enjoy.

She was a godly woman and all who knew her knew of her love and knowledge of Jesus who she praised every day. She always shared the teachings and love of Him to anyone she came across. She had many friends that she loved to go out to dinner with and catch up with weekly on the phone. She was also an avid music lover. One of her favorite activities was to listen to music with her grandchildren among her favorites being her "mighty fine husband" Chris Stapleton, Adele, and Willie Nelson.

She was a lifelong member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church where she was proud to share videos of the church and choir. She was a joy to all who knew her and was always there to lend an ear to those who were troubled.

Ms. Miner is preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey and Lelia Mae Casey Briggs; two brothers, Tommy and Jerry Briggs; one sister, Julia Graham; mothers-in-law, Brenda Miner and Opeal Mae Richardson; beloved son, Daniel Richardson.

She is survived by two daughters, Brandy Cole and husband as well as special friend Gideon Cole and Danielle Scott and husband Tyler; son, Gregory Richardson and wife Penny; four granddaughters, Amber Jones, Ashley Jones, Destiny (Desi) Cole and Serenity Richardson; grandson, Ricky Daniel; and her only great grandson, Jack Gates, all of whom she was most proud; two sisters, Tammy Denton and husband Danny, Doris Matherly and spouse Gary White; special friends, Betty and Mary; "adopted" granddaughters, Hannah Decker, Cheri Barnes, and Salena Duncan; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the nightshift nurses at Holston Valley ICU for their care, compassion and knowledge during her stay.

A Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 5:00 PM, at Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Brown officiating.
