Mr. Donald Maples, age 81, of Jonesborough, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.

He was born on March 21, 1943, to the late Lawrence and Pansy Maples, in Erwin, Tennessee.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was the owner of Maples Auto Repair and he loved to drive his muscle cars. Donald had a servant’s heart and loved to help the community any way that he could.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Maples.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frances Maples; daughter Donna Taylor; granddaughter, Alyssa Brackins; grandson, Robert Rose; great-grandchildren, Bradley Johnson, Abby Riner, Ryleigh Rose and Haleigh Rose; special friend, Janie Buchanan.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. I've known Tadd since I was a kid. He worked on my dad's vehicle for many years and mine as well. Donald was always nice to everyone and never changed. My dad use to go to the shop and just sit and talk with Donald just to get away from the house for a bit. Donald will be missed by many who knew him. He was a true friend . Prayers for the family.
