Mr. Shawn Austin Lee Parker, age 28, of Jonesborough, succumbed to medical issues that he had dealt with for the last year on Monday, April 4, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Shawn was born to Paul and Michelle Murphy Parker, on February 9, 1996, in Johnson City. He was a 2014 graduate of David Crockett High School where he played football.
Shawn worked in lawn care.
He was preceded in death by his lifelong best friend, Austin Britton.
Survivors include his parents, Paul and Michelle Parker of Jonesborough; son, Leland Austin Ree Parker; sisters, Autumn Bree Parker and Nichole Marie Sparks; grandparents, Jerry & Diana Presnell and Randy & Pam Tobin; nieces and nephews, Adylinn Parker, Grayson Parker, Maximus Sparks and Octavia Sparks.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the VFW Post 9724, 2463 Hwy 11 E, Jonesborough, TN 37659.

Shawn was an amazing person with the sweetest soul. He was one of the first people I became friends with when I switched from SHHS to DCHS. He cared so much about those around him to the point that if he knew you were going through a hard time or having a bad day, he would do anything and everything within his capabilities to help you or just to make you laugh or smile. He was always someone who you knew if you needed him, he was just a phone call away and he would do whatever he could to help you. He was there when I went through a really hard time and I just wish he would’ve known how much he meant to me as a close friend and how grateful I am that I got to call him a close friend, even family. He brought a light with him everywhere he went and the world seems just a bit darker without him. I love and miss him.

I didn’t know my cousin very well but I do know his daddy. I know this is a devastating loss for my uncle. I love him so very much. All my parker family please keep your heads up. I love yall
