Ms. Melissa Jill Sturgill, age 49, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Melissa was born on August 17, 1974, to Freddie Nelson and the late Sharon Adkins Nelson.
She worked in Dietary for the Johnson City Medical Center. Melissa loved her dogs and goat. She enjoyed gardening and farming.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Andrew Nelson.
She is survived by her daughter, Drew Cipro (Travis) of Johnson City; father, Freddie Nelson of Jonesborough; sisters, Tracy Nelson of Jonesborough, and Sherry Adams (Randy) of Telford; special nieces and nephew, Amber Nelson, Angel Hawkins and Dustin Hawkins; aunt, Nancy Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Grant Kerley and Jenny Brock officiating.

I had not seen Jill until 18 years after graduating high school. I bought some mums from her and later visit Freddie along with my brother, but I did not get to see Jill again.
I Remember Jill's "Spunky" personality, Yet Gentle Frienship as Young Adults.

Jill was one of my best friends. There is only very "few" people that I call actual "friends".
Yeah, there are people that say they "know" me. But they really don't know the TRUE ME.
Jill knew the True me. I loved being around her. I called her,
"My Lil' Spitfire".
I am Truly Blessed to know her and to call her,
"One of my Best Friends"!
She will TRULY BE MISSED!!!
