Mrs. Nila Ruth Letterman, age 84, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Letterman was born August 1, 1939, in Jonesborough, Tennessee to the late John & Ada Copas Ford. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Wayne Graybeal and Virgil Letterman, daughter, Mitzi Graybeal Ketcherside, brothers, Johnny Ford and Larry Ford, sisters, Rozella Graybeal (Bobby Graybeal) and Betty Lou Fair (Bobby Fair) and son-in-law, Junior McNeese.
She worked for many years at Slagle’s Grocery in Sulphur Springs.
Survivors include a son, John Graybeal, Jonesborough; daughters, Karen McNeese, Gray, Leica McElyea, Johnson City and Michella Johnson (Mike Gray) Piney Flats; sisters-in-law, Sandra Ford Huffman, and Sheree Ford; brother-in-law, Carroll Graybeal; special cousin, Louella; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Family graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Friday, February 9, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Carroll Graybeal officiating.
Pallbearers will be family.
Nila was such a sweet and precious lady. Every time I saw her she made my day better. I know you will be missed by many people. Rest in peace my friend.

I'm so sorry guys for your mom passing away, but look forward to when Jesus comes back and brings her forth from the grave and reunites you with her again. Even so Lord Jesus come... what a day that will be. She will be greatly missed and I'm so happy I was able to get that hug in and tell her that I loved her that will always be special to me
She was a wonderful aunt and I have nothing but wonderful memories of her.. Love to all

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Nila. Lisa, Karen, Michelle and John, I'm sure you made your mother so proud; I'm sorry her light is gone from your life. You've experienced such a huge loss in saying goodbye to your mother and my prayer is that God wraps you in His arms of comfort.
