From a broken heart, I wanted to share these thoughts about my sister. Phyllis was a TRUE friend. She fought my battles with me and never deserted me. She knew my flaws but stood beside me anyway. We laughed together, mourned together, and celebrated victories together. I am celebrating your victory, Phyllis and will celebrate with you again when I leave this world. What a day that will be --celebrating with Jesus!
Mrs. Morris was my favorite teacher at Altoona Elementary. I have so many fond memories of her and Fritz. My favorite was watching Shon play against the Hawkeyes at Carver Hawkeye Arena and getting to go down to the court. More importantly was how she made me feel and the confidence she instilled in me. My condolences to Shon, Michael and her entire family. RIP Mrs. Morris
My deepest sympathy to you at the loss of your Mother. I worked at Centennial teaching 5th grade, but was in many meetings over the years with her. She always had a smile and a greeting for everyone. We were on the same page with our teaching style and expectations. I would stop and visit your folks when I walked by their house by the school and still think of them when I drive by or walk by. Both of your parents were wonderful people who made everyone feel welcomed.

My favorite teacher. She was my 5th Grade teacher at Altoona Elementary and I still have wonderful memories. I also had the privilege of getting to know her and Fritz as I babysat for the boys. Rest in Peace.
My connection is with her son, Shon, who is one of the warmest, and kindest people I have ever met. In reading about his Mom, I know her influence has been strong and impactful to many. Condolences to the family …
Mrs. Morris was my 5th grade teacher at Altoona elementary and was hands down my favorite. I have many fond memories of mowing her and Fritz’s lawn in Altoona. Rest in peace Phyllis. Prayers and condolences to the family.

I knew Phyllis while we both worked at Altoona Elementary in 1969 in Altoona, Iowa. She was an excellent teacher and wonderful friend. Her sons were great athletes while at Southeast Polk and college, and she attended all their events. Phyllis was very well respected in her community . I'm sure she will be greatly missed. God bless the entire family.
