Ms. Evelyn Crowell, age 88, Piney Flats, formerly of Gray, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.

Ms. Crowell was born January 20, 1935, in Unicoi, Tennessee, to the late Samie & Ethel Woodby Stockton. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffery D. Crowell, two sisters, Oleen Constable and Bernice Stines and one brother, Eugene Stockton.

She worked for ITT for eighteen years.

Mrs. Crowell was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Velma Hoskins, Arizona; sister-in-law, Veta Stockton; special friends and neighbors, Chris Cox and Lisa Crawford; and several nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Monday, December 4, 2023, at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Pastor Craig Ponder officiating.
