Eula Evans Sims, of Johnson City, Tennessee departed this life on September 12, 2023, at the age of 95.
Services were held for extended family at Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City, TN. Arrangements were entrusted to Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, Jonesborough, TN.
Eula was born in Burnsville, North Carolina to Calvin and Annie Evans on February 21, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Benton M. Sims; parents Annie Peterson Evans and Calvin Evans; sisters, Beulah Eckard, Nadine Black, Diana Bumgarner; brothers, Lloyd Evans, John Evans, and Clyde Evans.
Survivors include daughters, Sandra (Jerry) Karr, Debbie (Mike) Sanders; sons, David (Traci) Sims and Donnie (Mary Lynn) Sims; twelve grandchildren also survive; Travis Sanders, Brian Sanders, Daniel Sanders, Jonathan Karr, Allison Blessen, Emily Suiter, Suzanne Pitchford, Sarabeth Hershey, Ben Sims, Shelbi Hughes, Sarah Sims, and Anderw Sims; great-grandchildren, Cliff Sanders, Kayla Sanders Maness, Gabe Sanders, Emma Sanders, Paige Sanders, Will Sanders, Laci Sanders, Walter Pitchford, Rollins Pitchford, Luci Pitchford, Anni Pitchford, Lily Blessen, Caroline Blessen, Soley Karr, Felix Karr, Alex Karr, Owen Suiter, Luke Suiter, Emery Holbrook, Easton Hersey, McKenzie Hershey, and Davy Sims; surviving siblings, Mary (Frank) Argenta, Harold (Sheila) Evans, Jim (Katie) Evans, and Mildred Edwards; brother-in-law, Tommy (Janella) Sims; special family members; Mike Evans at home with the Lord, August 20, 2023. Eula was a valued employee of Kmart for over 25 years. She was primarily responsible for balancing the cash registers and making deposits for the store. She was an active member of her church, Highland Baptist Church, working for many years with the Awana program and part of the senior adult ministry. She was an excellent cook and shared that gift often to bless her family and friends. She made hand-stitched quilts for all her children and grandchildren.
