James Wallace “Jim” Gibbs, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023, at Jefferson Barracks Veterans’ Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He spent his last days surrounded by his family.

Jim was a businessman, avid golfer, and musician with a special talent on the piano. He loved spending time with friends and family. He was co-owner of GM Mechanical in Macomb, IL for many years before retiring to Jonesborough, TN. He also worked for Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home as a Funeral Assistant.

Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorothy (nee Barnes), his son Randy (Carolyn) Gibbs and his daughters Candice Gibbs and Melanie Sleezer (Jerry). Jim also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Nick Gibbs, Natalie (Tivis) Landers, Jasmine Gibbs-Brown and Jalen Gibbs-Brown and one great-grandson Corbin James Landers.

There will be a celebration of Jim’s life at Parkers Table, 7118 Oakland Ave., St. Louis, MO 63117 at 4:00 pm, on August 12, 2023.
