Mr. Johnny Allen Slagle, age 75, of Bowmantown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was the son of the late John Albert Slagle and Grace Ball Slagle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George Slagle, one sister, Glenna Barkley.
Johnny was a Christian and he loved the Lord.
He was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and loved working as an annealing operator for 21 years at Modern Forge. Johnny loved fast cars, motorcycles, and racing.
He is survived by his former wife of 43 years, Maria Slagle and their daughter, Anna Slagle; brother, Bobby Slagle.
Per Johnny’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
A special thanks to the ETSU Trauma Team, nurses, and staff of 2800 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
I found out today about your precious dad and husband!! My heart is broken!! I have a son in the same place this tragic thing happened my memories of Anna and Maria are precious and I will be praying for you both until my last breath! Take care of each other. My heart is blessed to know Johnny is home with Christ Jesus. He was a good man and our family will always remember the good times!
Anna, I have no words that will make this any easier, but know I am praying for God to cover you and your mom during this tragic time. May you find some peace in all the good memories you have. Love you!

Johnny was always kind to me and made sure to talk with me each Sunday at church when I was younger. I remember his faithfulness to being there with his family. Maria and Anna we are praying for you as you face the days ahead.
Dear Maria and Anna. Just today 6-22-23 heard about Johnny. Was a GREAT friend. Would meet him every morning at the Food City parking lot than ride on to Modern Forge together for years...
