Mrs. Carolyn J. Woodward, age 81, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones.

Mrs. Woodward was born in Washington County and the daughter of the late Dan & Kate Sliger Barnes. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Debi W. Broyles, four brothers, Eugene, Buck, Kenneth and Ed and four sisters, Dorothy Peavler, Gladys Barnes, Daisy Barnes, and Helen Baines.

She was a member of New Victory Baptist Church. She will be remembered for the beautiful garden that she lovingly tended and her big heart.

Mrs. Woodward, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother is survived by her husband, Howard Woodward, as well as sons, Bill and Jim Woodward; grandchildren, Eden “Susie” Montgomery and Cody Woodward and wife Hannah.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, June 3, 2023, at New Victory Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Dykes officiating. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
