I met Mr Shipley several years ago when my cousin and I were beginning genealogy research and had learned that we were related to him. He welcomed us and shared what he could, and we had a lovely, memorable conversation. So sorry to hear of his passing. Peace and blessings to his family.
Dan’s late son Mark and I were best friends with Dan as our basketball coach in middle school. We had great times together with father and son so much like the other. Years later when visiting I loved seeing Dan at church and always getting a big hug and smile of great memories with Mark and I. I look forward to seeing them both in heaven some day.

Dan: A good friend for several years. Many memories of the good times together. Dan will not be forgotten.
Dan and I have been friends for over 10 years, AKA "Veggie Man" and "Young Dan Shipley" Before he became ill he grew a wonderful vegetable garden and would share his fresh vegetables with me when he came to the VA. I will deeply miss our phone calls and his funny stories. Dan was one of a kind, no doubt....Love you Dan!
Dan was such a good friend to my husband Donald Canter. They were classmates and partners in mischief as I learned through the many stories they told. Condolences to his family . Rest in peace “Dan the Man”.
I knew Dan & went to the Daytona 500 with him a few times & stayed at his old hose in Deland, Florida. I love you Deland Dan, you are a great person & im thankful to have crossed paths with you. God Bless.

My cousin Dan was so good to me. He mowed my grass (2 acres) every week for 10+ years and would never accept pay except for an ice cream sandwich.

We enjoyed meeting and the wonderful fellowship we had with as we called him “Uncle Dan”. We won’t ever forget the fun talking to him at the wedding of his great niece Alex and the Christmas Eve we got to spend with him. RIP Uncle Dan
