Mr. Sammy Susong, age 79, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.
Mr. Susong was born June 20, 1943, in Jonesborough, TN to the late John & Ruby Gamble Susong. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Dale “Bud” Susong.
He was a member of Marvin’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mr. Susong retired from Pet Dairy, was a truck driver and a farmer. He enjoyed sawing trees and cutting wood.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Deyton Williams Susong, Jonesborough; stepson, Tom David Williams, III (Tammy Radford Williams), Piney Flats; stepdaughter, Tammy Williams Eldridge (Dan), Jonesborough; daughter, Jennifer Susong Crowder (Tim), Jonesborough; grandchildren, Garrett Crowder, Gavin Crowder, Meredith Redman (Joseph), Abigail Eldridge, and Collin Eldridge (Katie Beth); two great-grandchildren, Merritt Redman and Jolie Redman.
Private graveside services will be conducted at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Eldridge, Joseph Redman, Collin Eldridge, Tim Crowder, Garrett Crowder, Gavin Crowder, Tom Williams and Rock Saylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Rawles, McKinley Jenkins, Mike Edwards, Frank Saylor, Junior Briggs and John Williams.
