Mr. Carl Dean “Red” Slagle, age 85, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Slagle was born in Washington County and the son of the late Joe C. & Mary Rogers Slagle. He was also preceded in death by a brother, J.D. Slagle.

He was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Slagle served in the Army Reserves. He retired from Raytheon. He enjoyed restoring cars and keeping his neighbors farm equipment running in the Boones Creek area.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Broyles Slagle; daughters, Kathy Hopson (Randy) and Lisa Jones (Lynn); brother, Jimmy Slagle; sister, Susan Riddle; grandchildren, Stephanie Saylor (Jason) and Jessica Peregoy (Dan); great-grandchildren, Blaine Peregoy and Jackson Saylor.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Washington County Memory Gardens with Pastor Randy Hopson officiating.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
