Mr. Leslie “Les” Fredericks, age 64, Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 20, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Fredericks was born in California and the son of the late Raymond & Margaret Fredericks. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Gavin.
He was a very active member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee and on the Building and Grounds Committee. He gave God the glory when helping others.
Mr. Fredericks was a Machinist for the Budd Company.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Fredericks; daughter, Jessica Fredericks Jenkins, Greeneville; sons, Billy Joe Alkire and Andrew Ricer, both of Jonesborough; five grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Swineford and Cynthia Devenney, both of Ashland, Ohio; and several nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Saturday September 25, 2021 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hayes officiating.
I worked and had fun with Les at Budd. It was great being around. He was a great fellow. I send condolences to Les family and friends. He will be sorely missed. Praying for family.

Family so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Les. We looked forward to seeing him at church and would miss him when not there. He always had a smile and a handshake for every one. First met Les when he was helping to build a ramp for my brother to make a way for him to get in his home. He will be missed by many. God needed a kind hearted man to come home.

I came to know Les through my husband Randy. I soon came to love, respect and cherish our friendship. He was a man of his word, loved his family tremendously and loved and worshiped his Lord and Savior with all his heart. I will miss him so very much. He will always hold a special place in my heart and memories. Dance with the angels Les!

I really don't want to go to church. I feel like I have no choice in this matter. God used Mr. Fredericks to touch me in a very profane manner. It was completely unexpected when he called my parents' phone last Thursday and I happened to be the one who answered the phone. I don't answer phones. He proceeded to tell me how he knew me. I was completely floored. That man made such a difference in my attitude in the five minutes that I spoke with him as anyone has made in my entire life. I'm gonna try to do better just because of the kind words he spoke to me. I'm sure I had spoken to him before, but I just don't remember anything. Les, you are in a better place now sir. Until we meet again...

Les was a fine gentleman we a loved him at Cherry Grove he was always helping with anything he could. He loved the Lord and he will be deeply missed

You’ve come to help me with projects just because you wanted to, that’s the kind of awesome person are. I’ve always enjoyed your company, we’ve had many good times and laughs. From the very first time I came over you accepted me and treated me just like I was a part of the family and I will always cherish and hold on to that. You will be so deeply missed each and everyday, but I know for me I'll miss you & think of you the most each Saturday when Ohio State kicks the ball off, but I know your flying high and will be watching right along with me!... RIP Les ...You'll be forever missed! And my deepest condolences to all of the family too.
Les was a sweet man that was always smiling. He was devoted to Jesus and his family. We will miss him dearly.

Robin, I am so sorry about the passing of you husband. I used to go to church at Hertiage Baptist with Les’s parents and sister and he would come from time to time. I loved his family and it was wonderful to see that Les was involved in church and loved the Lord. Lifting you and your family in prayer!
