Mr. Anthony Lee Freeman, age 71, from Boones Creek/Gray TN passed away on June 10th, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born in Johnson City, TN and the son of Harry and Doris Freeman.
He was a graduate of Boones Creek High School and attended ETSU/Northeast State Community College. He had a wonderful career of 45 years with Eastman Chemical Company.
Lee was a lifelong faithful member of Marvin’s Chapel UMC where he served as trustee, teacher, and choir member.
He also served his community in various ministries to include serving on the Board of Directors for the Sulphur Springs Community Center, also assisting with the Melting Pot ministry, and Boones Creek Historical Trust.
Lee was a devoted husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Peggy Maupin Freeman, his children, son Mickey and wife Rachel, daughter April Dykes, four grandchildren, Katie, Caleb, Nick, and Corban, brother Mike (Janice) Freeman , and sisters Janet (Johnny) Gray, Suzanne (Barry) Redman, aunts, uncles, cousins, and several nieces, nephews who dearly loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Marvin’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Rusty Taylor and Rev. Joel Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM, Sunday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Monday, June 14, 2021 at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include grandsons and nephews with Honorary Pallbearers being Mike Beard, Ben Bowman, Jerry Davis, Eddie Fields, and Chuck Lambert.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Marvin’s Chapel UMC Building fund or Sulphur Springs Community Center.

I just found out about Lee, so sorry to hear this. I hate that I didn’t know. So sorry for your loss. Prayers for the family.
I'm so sorry to hear of Lee's passing.. A lot of my best memories of growing up involved Lee and the whole Freeman family. I wish everyone much love and peace in the days to come.
I am so sorry to learn of Lee's passing. I always enjoyed my time with him and his quick wit at church and not to confuse anyone I am not his sister. There are two Janet Freemans who attended Marvin's Chapel UMC. He will be missed by his many friends and family. I pray that God gives you peace and comfort at this time.
So sad to hear of Lee’s passing. He was a blessing to me and always made me laugh! He was a mentor to me as I started my career in CMD. I’ll always remember his laugh and all his nicknames for me and others! Prayers for comfort during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Lee's passing. He leaves behind many fond memories for family and friends. Lee was always a pleasure to be around. He had such a joyful spirit that rubbed off on everyone around him. At work, he was personally known by hundreds of people and was highly respected for his leadership, job knowledge and ability to get things done. Personally, I worked with him for several years and am proud to call him my friend. May God bless Lee and his wonderful family.
Lee and I worked together in the same department for years at Eastman. Always enjoyed working with him. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.

I worked with Lee for many years at Eastman. He made work so easy. Always so happy and joyful. You knew he had to have a great family behind him for him to be so full of fun. My paryers are with you as you say good bye but knowing you will see him again.
So sorry for your loss, though it’s only a short separation, it’s painful and hurts at this time. I knew Lee from Boone’s Creek School and also worked with him at Eastman. Prayers are with the family during this sad time.

I am so sorry of the passing of Lee.

Lee was a co-worker at Eastman. Lee was a tremendous asset to Eastman. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. Lee was so good at his job, that he was the technical expert for many of the railcar training videos. Always friendly with that big smile and ready to help prank a coworker. I’m grateful for being able to call him a friend.
