Mr. J.C. Dunbar, Sr. age, 80, of the South Central Community, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Center on Aging and Health.
Mr. Dunbar was born in Chuckey, son of the late Joe and Ina Raines Dunbar. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Copp Dunbar; brother, Joe Dunbar; and sisters, Betty Duncan, Ruby Waddell, and Dixie Watts.
Mr. Dunbar was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Robin Hensley (Randy), Angie Cobble, and Jill Broyles; son, J.C. Dunbar, Jr.; sister, Joy Belt (Jim); brother, Tommy Dunbar; grandchildren T.J. Shipley, Rachel Gosnell (Matt Taylor), Emily Bishop (Ben), Chesley Dunbar, Chloe Powers (Mitchell), James Russell Broyles, and Jonah Dunbar; great grandchildren, Solomon Broyles, Kendall Turner, Warren Bishop, and Solara “Annie” Dunbar; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Bobby Joe Waddell officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 2, 2020 at Liberty Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Dunbar, Jerry Dunbar, David Dunbar, Chuck Garland, Bobby Joe Waddell and Jim Waddell.

The best man I ever knew. My best friend. The person I told my secrets too. The one I took advise from. The only person I would listen and mind. The respect and loyalty between us can't be matched. Never one time did we have a harsh word towards eachother. This is my Papaw. I will miss you forever and love you for eternity. Tell my granny I love and miss her and enjoy heaven paw.
