Mr. Tom McCurry, age 64, Limestone, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. McCurry was born in Washington County and was the son of the late Robert Emmerson & Louise Ferguson McCurry. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Briggs and nephew, Clay Thomas Collins.
He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
Tom was a farmer and retired from the Washington County Highway Department as a Foreman. He enjoyed picking on people and making people laugh. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanene Bryant McCurry, Jonesborough; daughter, Carrie Lewis (Stephen); grandchildren, Carter Lewis, Eli Lewis and Isaac Briggs his mother, Missy Briggs; sister, Jane Collins; nephews, Rodney Collins, Jason Collins and Eric Collins (Mendy); nieces, Sadee Collins and Sophee Collins; mother-in-law, Rovenia Bryant.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Dykes, Pastor Craig Ponder and Pastor Joe Barker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, September 10, 2020 at New Salem Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.

Sorry to hear about Tom. When I would see Tom on occasion in the county truck out working somewhere or running some piece of equipment or maybe out on the tractor he would always smile and wave and give me a shout in that deep voice of his. Family, friends, and our wonderful community will truly miss Tom. Our heart felt condolences go out to all the family, Wassan and Vickie Broyles.
Dear Jeanene and family, please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. I've known Tom for several years. He used to work with my brother, Jimmy. Tom was always helpful to older folks and me, too. Tom checked on Ray Swift at his store several times a week. I lived across the road back then and Tom also helped me start my lawnmower when I couldn't. Tom's good nature will be missed by all his friends and family. So sorry for your loss.

Jeanene, Jane and family I’m so sorry to hear of Toms passing. I’ve known Tom all my life, he was a good man. I always remember going out to the quarry to see my dad Ralph and Tom would always ask how I was doing. I remember years ago Tom would come and dehorn dads cattle, dad always appreciated him helping out. Tom and dad are together in heaven now cutting up and joking around. Jeanene and family we are so sorry to hear about Toms passing away we have known Tom for many years Tom and some boys came over to my father in laws Leroy Bennett and worked some calves we had one year we would buy his sausage he made off him it was always good sausage no matter when or were we run into Tom he always spoke said hey and then him and Tina would start picking at each other Tom always could make you smile and have you laughing when you walked away Tom was a very good friend anda very good man he will be missed by many RIP Tom
