Mrs. Shirley “Nana” Ford, age 84, Telford, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Ford was born in Washington County and the daughter of the late Fred & Bonnie Oxendine Street. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel D. Ford, brothers and sisters, Stanley Street, James L. Street, Vivian Cummings and Janice Reedy.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ford retired from James H. Quillen VA Medical Center as an LPN.
Survivors include three children, Karen Bryant (Jackie), Angela Cole (Darrell) and Samuel Timothy “Tim” Ford (Deidre); sisters, Joann Knight, Brenda Barnett and Kathy Phillips; grandchildren, Gary Thomason (Rebecca Morgan), Michael Thomason (Misty), Isaac Ford, Ricky Cole, David Cole (Amanda) and Jenna Mae Cole (Nick); great-grandchildren, Michael Wayne Thomason (Shanae), Miranda Thomason, Xavier Marshall, Augustus Marshall, Athena Stonecipher, Anastasia Stonecipher, Angel Skeen, Jacob Skeen, Caleb Skeen, Sammi Brewer, Deacon Cole, Jayla Cole, Marilyn Cole, Angel Thomason, Ann Thomason, and Madison Thomason ; and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30 am Friday, July 3, 2020 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Charles Morgan, Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gary Thomason, Michael D. Thomason, Isaac Ford, Ricky Cole, David Cole and Michael W. Thomason.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley about 20 years ago. A wonderful lady. She would be a cousin. My Grandmother was Bessie Oxendine (Lowe) my father Charles James Lowe.

Wish we could be there for all of you but are unable to come. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers for all of you. She will be missed by all. The video brought back a lot of memories of us growing up. I wish there was something we could say or do but send our love and prayers. Stay safe.

I work with Shirley at the VA for many years. She was so sweet and kind to everyone.missed her when she retired. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
