Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint

Thomas Hamlin Roberts, Jonesborough, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 7, 2020.

Thomas was born September 9, 1950, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Margie Ellen Faddis/Roberts and James Hamlin.

Thomas served in the Army from 1971 to 1974, at McNair Kaserne, Germany. He reenlisted in the 1980’s and was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia. Thomas lived in St. Petersburg, Florida, Tivoli, New York, Johnson City, Tennessee and finally settled in Jonesborough, Tennessee, in 2003.

He loved playing music, writing songs and especially loved playing the guitar until his daughters fell asleep. Tommy enjoyed going to his sisters’ house and weeding her garden, fishing and hunting. Tommy and his friends would head to the farm months in advance of hunting season and would sight their guns and prepare their bows. He loved his family so much and showed it in so many ways. He gave encouragement, made everyone laugh and was always an ear to listen. He will be so dearly missed.

Tommy leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Jill N. Roberts, 3 daughters, Mary (Jamie) Wosolowski, Amy (Eddie) Smith and Sarah Roberts, grandchildren, Gideon, Milo, Corey, Christopher, Kaliegh, Misty, Josiah, Naomi, Emily and Isabella (Tyler Gilbert), sister, Linda (Tom) Gentles and their 3 sons, brother Denny (Judy) Roberts and their 2 children, father in law, Irs Brown, sister in law, Cheryl Hawkes and her 2 children.
