Mrs. Macie Deyton Renfro, age 103, Limestone, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Renfro was born October 9, 1916 in Jack’s Creek, North Carolina and the daughter of the late Delbert & Sarah Howell Deyton. She grew up in a close family of three brothers, Conway, Howe and Jay; two sisters, Ethel and Madge, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Renfro.
On June 12, 1935, Macie was united in marriage to Ivan Renfro and they remained together for 70 years. They raised four sons. In 1961 they moved from Green Mountain, NC to Limestone TN where they became dairy farmers.
Macie was an avid gardener, often growing enough food to share with friends and family. Her yard was full of beautiful flowers and she could always find room for one more. She was an excellent seamstress making her own clothes and many beautiful quilts. Saying she was a good cook doesn’t do her justice, she could lay out a meal fit for a king, many times everything on the table was homegrown. No one left her house hungry!
She was a longtime member of the United Church of God and considered its members to be part of her family. Macie will always be remembered for her strong faith and her undying optimism.
Survivors include four sons, Virdan Renfro, Dean and wife Freida, Darrell and wife Theresa, all of Limestone, TN and Terry and wife Pat, of Marietta, GA. She had 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren.
We will miss her terribly but know that she now awaits the resurrection and the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Private graveside services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday April 7, 2020 at Oakland Cemetery with Minister Jay Ledbetter officiating.
Pallbearers will be family.
Condolences may be sent to the Renfro family online at www.dillow-taylor.com.

So sorry for your loss. Dad and I had talked about coming to see her, when it got warmer. I would have loved to see her beautiful face one more time. She has always been a very dear special lady to me starting from my childhood and talking about those meals, I always said that I couldn't believe how fast she got one together and they were delicious. I have so many good memories from visiting at the house and going to church. May God bless you all and comfort you and Amen we will all get to see her in the resurrection.
