Mary Ethel "Dink" Carden Green

Mrs. Mary Ethel Carden Green “Dink”, age 88, Johnson City, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Green was born in Hampton, TN and the daughter of the late Sam & Mary Isabelle Bunton Oliver. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Curtis Carden, second husband, Gary Dale Green, and a son, Joel Curtis “Chuck” Carden, and a granddaughter, April Baines.
She was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, loved spending time with her grandchildren, the outdoors and grew some of the most beautiful flowers in East Tennessee.
Mrs. Green was a private Caregiver and enjoyed caring for others.
Survivors include son, Robin Carden (Sherry); daughters, Diane Carden Martin (Ed) and Jeanie Pappalas (Nick); twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren that she adored, Ezra Taylor and Avery Broyles; brother, Jim Oliver (Marilyn); sister, Shirley Hughes; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of NHC for their loving care provided to our mother.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, private graveside services will be conducted at New Victory United Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Carden, Coty Martin, Jerry Carden, Zachary Centers, Gregory Taylor and Kendell Broyles.
