Mrs. Opal Hughes Sadler, age 81, Johnson City, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Sadler was born in Johnson City and the daughter of the late Blaine & Vestal Hughes. She was also preceded in death by her brother Robert “Bud” Hughes and his wife Marie.
She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson City.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Sadler, Johnson City.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Monday, February 24, 2020 at First Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson City with Pastor Tony Trott officiating. The family will receive friends at the chuch from 6:00-7:00 pm Monday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to life-long friend, Norma Hayes, her church family and Pastor Tony Trott, and special friends, Kathy Lewis, Tammy McKinney, Sherry Day, Judy White, Betty Barnett, Kenneth & Jean Tittle.
Memorial donations may be made to First Freewill Baptist Church 302 Colorado Street Johnson City, TN 37601.
So sorry to hear of Opal’s passing. I am so glad I got to see you and your Mother at the Cedar Grove homecoming last October. I hope she did not suffer. She is in a better place. Our blessed hope is that we will be with her someday. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Laura, so sad to learn of your mom’s passing. It was always good to see “Mama” at dances.
