Lorena Fern Broyles, age 87, Limestone, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2020 at her residence.
She was born in Washington County, a daughter to the late William Milburn Reed and Hattie Hice Reed on March 11, 1932. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Joe Broyles, daughter, Sharon Brockwell, son, Thomas Broyles, sisters, Udema Jaynes, Betty Young, Jean Rector, Dorothy Cousin, Edna Lewis, and brothers, Dana Reed, Clifford Reed, James Reed and Clyde Reed.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sandra McCurry (Jimmy), son, Wassan Broyles (Vickie) and Jeffrey Broyles (fiancé Sharon Smith); grandchildren, Benny Broyles, Jennifer Phillips, Jonathan McCurry, Jody McCurry, Josh McCurry, Chris Smith, Angie Edwards, David Brockwell, Jeffrey Broyles, Skylar Estep and Haley Broyles; several great-great grandchildren; and special friend Roy Grom, who she enjoyed spending time with.
She was a longtime member of Limestone Free Will Baptist Church.
Lorena was a skilled homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, telling stories, joking, gardening, flowers, cooking, canning, listening to her favorite preachers, reading her bible, and working at her daughters store until age 85. She also enjoyed riding through Davey Crockett Birthplace with her husband, Joe, feeding the squirrels and always ready for a traveling experience.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Limestone EMT & Fire Department.
Lorena’s final wishes were for a graveside and committal service be held at Urbana Cemetery.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, February 21, 2020 at Urbana Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the services at 126 Joe Broyles Lane Limestone, TN.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan McCurry, Jody McCurry, Josh McCurry, Benny Broyles, Jaden McCurry and Little Jeffrey Broyles.
