Mrs. Cheryl Kay Whitaker, age 62, of Jonesborough, passed away Thursday September 19, 2019, at the Johnson City Medical Center with her family by her side.

Mrs. Whitaker was a native of Coral Gables, Florida and the daughter of Jane MacMartin Meyers and the late Mark Meyers of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and the late Tony Grosboll.

Kay loved her Tennessee home and the many friends she had since moving to Jonesborough.

Kay will be greatly missed at Goat Patch Farm where she loved all her animals, especially Jake, Ollie, Sophia, Hannah, Itty Bitty, and Lola. KK’s bright eyes, beautiful smile, and warm heart will never be forgotten as she made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, David Whitaker, of the home, step-daughter Leigh Ann Whitaker, Portland, Oregon, brothers, Duncan Grosboll of Asheville, North Carolina, and Douglas Meyers and wife Holly, of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, special cousin Melissa Whitaker, of Jonesborough, brother-in-law Jack Whitaker and wife Sandy and many special friends that she considered her “adopted family”.
