Mrs. Annie R. Coggins Dickerson, age 81, Jonesborough, passed from this life to her Heavenly home Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Four Oaks Healthcare Center with her family by her bedside.
Annie was a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late John & Lona Dotson Coggins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Loyd Dickerson, her brothers and spouses, Howard Coggins & Martha, Tom Coggins & Peggy, John Jr. Coggins & Jessie, her sisters, Hazel Clark, Helen Smith & Howard, Minty “Bo” Cox & Bill.
Annie was led to Jesus by the late Arnold “Bud” Pate. When in good health she attended Cherry Hill Baptist Church.
She worked at the Jonesborough Nursing Home and started to work at Four Oaks Health Care Center when it first opened and retired from there as a nurse’s aide.
Annie is survived by her brothers, Vestal Coggins & Norma Jean and James “Buck Coggins & Margaret; step-children, Joyce Dickerson Norton, Steve Dickerson & Tommy Dickerson; and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Four Oaks Health Care Center for the care they provided for Annie. Before she got so very sick, she kept them in laughter and had a new name for most of her caregivers.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Tittle officiating. Music will be provided by Rita Kay Bowman, David Freeman and Helen Story. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 pm Sunday prior to the service. Graveside will follow at Cherry Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Adkins, Nathan Coggins, Teddy Clark, Richard Harrison, Brian Coggins and David Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Keys and Jerry Hall.
