Mr. Dennis Lee White, age 73, Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. White was born in New Boston, Ohio. He was the son of Charlene Clark Mayfield, Ohio and the late Douglas White.
He attended Fairhaven United Methodist Church.
Mr. White graduated with a Criminal Justice degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Park College in Ohio. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam and Iraq Wars. He also served in the #276 National Guard Unit in Rogersville, TN. He received a National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a Components Achievement Medal (4th Award), and was an M1 Tank Systems Mechanic. He also received a soldier of the year award in 1977.
In addition to his Mother, survivors include his wife, Janice Phillips White, Jonesborough; three sons, Perry Scott White (Gale), Christopher Lee White and Corey Allen White, all of Las Vegas; step-sons, Brad Hacker (Cate), Colorado and Steven Hacker (Traci), Idaho; Grandchildren, Bella Hacker, Beau Lawson (Kyley), Tanner Lawson, Jessica Hacker Cook, Rachel Hacker, Abby Hacker, and Isaiah Hacker; great-grandchildren, Brycin Cook, Malachi Jones and Addison Cook, all of whom he loved very much; special aunt, Ruth Salmon, and numerous aunts and uncles who reside in Ohio.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:45 AM Monday, August 19, 2019 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Reverend Paul Longmire officiating.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or Wreaths Across America c/o Richard Phillips P.O. Box 5814 Kingsport, TN 37663.
There will not be a formal visitation. Friends and family are invited to visit the home anytime.
