When I first met Jeanne she and I didn’t seem
to get off on the right foot, but it didn’t
take me long to realize that she was testing me
to see how tough I was. You see, you had to be
tough to hang with Jeanne Cope. She corrected
me when I needed it and she gave me a pat on
the back when she thought I deserved that too.
I came to love her very much and enjoyed our
long talks. She made me feel important and I
think my happiness really mattered to her. She
always had a smile for me and a twinkle in her
eye that made me wonder what she was up to.
Our love of gardening was what drew us
together. The scarlet bee balm she gave me is
planted in my garden and will remain there to
remind me of her. Rest in peace my friend.
