Mr. John Sells, age 62, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Sells was born in Washington County and the son of the late Bill & Sara Bell Sells.
He worked for Travis Brown Trucking. He was a great husband and friend and was loved by all. He enjoyed Dirt Track Racing.
Mr. Sells was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Sells.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Sells, Jonesborough, son, Johnny Lee Sells; step-daughter, Brooke Martin and husband, David; sisters, Brenda Gray and Teresa Jenkins and husband, Jerry; brother, Jeff Sells and wife Debbie; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor John H. Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Thursday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Brown, Travis Brown, Mark Hamby, Mike Conley, David Martin and Mark Salts. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Byrd, Scotty Harrell, Chad English, Toby Hughes, Jody Hughes and Anthony Vanhoy.
I am so sorry for your loss. Death is truly an
enemy of mankind (1 Corinthians 15:26). We long
for the time when we can say, "Death is swallowed
up forever. Death, where is your victory? Death,
where is your sting?"- 1 Corinthians 15:54, 55
We are very sad to hear about Johnny. We will miss seeing
his smile. Our deepest condolences to his family. A big hug
from Katarina and her parents.
Still in shock. He was always smiling. We
are gonna miss him. Penny you are all in
