Mr. Frankie J.” Toots” Briggs, Chuckey, went home to be with his heavenly Father surrounded by his family Saturday May 25, 2019 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
Mr. Briggs was a native of Unicoi County and the son of the late Emery Briggs and Beulah Silvers Robinson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Jenkins Briggs; brothers, Dorsey Briggs, James Robinson, and Clyde Robinson, and one sister Linna Mae Casey.
Mr. Briggs was a member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church and attended Unity Chapel. He enjoyed fishing and collecting and trading.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Stephen Saults, beloved grandson Isaac Saults, brothers Kenneth Silvers, and Maynard Silvers (Diane), sister, Ann Casey; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday May 28 2019 7:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Saults, Rev Otis Banks, and Brother Lynn Bowens officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service.
Graveside services will be Wednesday May 29, 2019 11:00 AM at Bumpass Cove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Deakins, Richard Nelson, Kenneth Lee Silvers, Mathew McLain, Randy McLain, Benny Jenkins, Terry Lewis, Cody McLain and Tres Silvers. Honorary pallbearers will be William Harley, Ryan Lewis and the men of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church and Unity Chapel.
