Ella Mae McClain Townsend, 92, Hampton, passed away, Wednesday, February 27, 2019.
She was textile worker and very active member in Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. in Elizabethton. She held treasure position for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary & Frank McClain, husband, Warren Townsend, a son, Rick Townsend, three brothers, Carmen, Billy and JC McClain and two sisters, Arlene and Bernice McClain.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Townsend, Elizabethton; grandson, Todd McCoury and companion Shirley Franklin, Elizabethton; three granddaughters Courtney King and spouse Logan of Erwin, Emily Whitehead and spouse Matt of Elizabethton and Madison Franklin of Elizabethton; a very special great-grandson, Collin Whitehead, Elizabethton; special friend, Jan Blankenship, Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Townsend donated her body to Quillen Collage of Medicine.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
