Keith D. Simmons

02/12/2019
Rev. Keith D. Simmons went home to meet Jesus on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, hearing the words “well done my good and faithful servant”.
Rev. Simmons was a native of Sterling Il. And the son of Marvel Crane Simmons and the late Keith Dunlap Simmons Sr.
Ordained as a minster in 1988 he spent his life living an example and teaching others about our God. His ministry spanned 40 years and multiple states with the Church of the Nazarene and Church of God out of Anderson, IN.
Besides his ministry, he was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, grandfather and friend to many.
He loved studying the Bible, along with woodworking and carving. He also loved to sing his hymns in spite of not being gifted with a voice. His soft spirit will be missed.
He married the Love of his life on October 26th, 1968 after meeting her at 12 years old. He was a hero of a dad to Toni & Jeff. and a proud grandfather to five grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sharron Sliger Simmons, daughter Toni Simmons, son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Sarah Simmons, five grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Buddy Rhea, Barb and Dave Riffle, Rev. Judy Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Judy Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.
