Mr. James W. Ramsey, age 74, Jonesborough, peacefully entered his Lord’s presence on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
Mr. Ramsey was born in Unicoi County, son of the late Ford Ramsey and Marie Broyles. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, David Ramsey, and step father, Dana Broyles.
Mr. Ramsey was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesborough and a member of Local 538 Plumbers and Steamfitters. He was a member of Unicoi Masonic Lodge #681 F&AM and an avid fisherman, hunter and watercolorist.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Ramsey, 2 daughters; Kimberly Hutchison and son-in-law Jake, Melissa Snyder and son-in-law Jeff. 1 son; Chad Ramsey. 3 grandchildren; Chesney Ramsey, Ezra Snyder, and Jonah Snyder.
Funeral services for Mr. Ramsey will be held 6 PM, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Jonesborough with Dr. Lester Morelock and Rev. Joel Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-6 P.M. prior to the service
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 18, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Goodman, Jake Hutchison, Chad Ramsey, Glen Ramsey, Ezra Snyder, and Jeff Snyder. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonah Snyder and the men of First Baptist, Jonesborough.
Music will be provided by Jeff Snyder.
The family request donations to be made to First Baptist Church Jonesborough, Building Fund, 201 E. Main St. Jonesborough, Tn. 37659
