I am so sorry for your loss. Tobie was always diplomatic, calm and kind. She was a great OR supervisor. There was nothing that seemed to "rattle" her or dim her smile!

For so many years, Baxter and Tobie opened up their home to Connecticut storytellers at the time of the annual National Storytelling Festival. They encouraged us to take over their kitchen-- invite our friends from all over! It was home away from home. Even though, Tobie was not in good health over the past couple years, she insisted that we come, stay with her and use her facilities. Jonesborough will not be the same without her. Peg O'Sullivan

Toby was the OR Supervisor at North Side Hospital when I first met her. I had just moved back to Tennessee after leaving an abusive marriage in Columbus Georgia. I had no job and needed to provide for my son Jason. I had only 1 year of nursing school and Toby gave me a job as an OR Tech. I will always be grateful to her for that, being such a great OR Manager and helping me and my son survive in a very difficult time.

To all the Bledsoe Family: I wish you peace and comfort. Tobie and I met as neighbor's in the 70's. We shared a special friendship which has continued for 40 plus years. I have never known a grander lady. We did the first Christmas Progressive Dinner together. I was a fan when she became Mayor. She was undaunted by any task. I will miss her forever.

When I came to Jonesborough in 1993, I was so fortunate that Tobie was in need of an surgical nurse. I applied and Tobie hired me. For nine years it was wonderful friendship and her surgery department became my family members. That was the attitude she instilled in all her nurses, because she cared about her patients, physicians and nurses. You could talk to Tobie about anything personal or work related. It was such a loss when the JCMC took our OR. She was missed when she retired, as I know she is now. My sincere sympathy to her children and family. May God comfort each of you.
