Mrs. Peggy Ann Wright Phillips, age 87, Jonesborough passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Washington County and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Humphreys Wright and the late Dr. James E. Humphreys and Bessie Swingle Humphreys. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Phillips in 1984; brothers S.V. Wright, Dick Wright and sister Bessie Catherine Wright.
Survivors include daughter, Sheree Phillips-London and husband Andrew of Greensboro, NC, son Perry Phillips and wife Wanda of Jonesborough. One sister, Joan Wright Messimer and husband Emil Johnson City, sisters in law Jane Wright and Barbara Wright, both of Telford. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of Enon Baptist Church, Jonesborough.
She will be fondly remembered for her talented piano playing, as well as her love for gardening and her flowers. Her beloved cat Prissy was a loyal companion for many years.
The family will receive friends at Dillow Taylor Funeral Home, Monday, November 5, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 pm Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Dykes and Rev. Ross Lindley officiating.
Pallbearers will be nephews and family Greg Wright, Steve Wright, Tim Wright, Dr. Sam Messimer, Mike Burleson, and Marty Street.
