Mr. Craig Scott Boring, age 93, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Boring was born in Washington County, TN and the son of the late Ralph Montgomery Boring & Ada Scott Boring. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Frances Boring Brown, Frances Alley Boring and Pauline Boring, daughter, Belinda Mae Owens, brother, Ralph Boring, Jr. and a sister, Velma Sue Paul.
He was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church and Martindale Baptist Church.
Mr. Boring was a World War II Army Veteran and obtained the rank of Corporal.
He was owner and operator of Craig’s Auto-Body Repair Shop and also worked at TN Motor Company, A-1 Auto Salvage and Jack Miller’s Body Shop for a total of 50 years as an autobody mechanic.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, John Wallace & Harriett Boring, Eric Scott & Rose Boring, all of Johnson City; step-children, Bobby Alley and wife Connie, Brenda Rose, Nora Alley Brown and husband Stanley; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2018 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Yelton and Pastor Delbert Story officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Friday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Cherry Grove-Keplinger Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
