Mr. Kenneth Ray Street, age 89, Limestone, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Durham-Hensley Nursing Home.
Mr. Street was born in Washington County and the son of the late James David “J.D.” & Cleo Hensley Street. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Ray Street, brother, J.D. Street, a sister Wanda Dykes, brothers-in-law, Bill Collins and Albert Ayers and sister and brother-in-law, Elmer & Wanda Dykes and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gene & Betty Aiken.
He was a member of Limestone United Methodist Church.
Mr. Street was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a Farmer, Electrician and Plumber. He provided service to his community through the Limestone Ruritan Club and Limestone Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Roberts and husband Larry and Alice Bowser; grandson, Andy Bowser; step granddaughter, Joanna Roberts; sisters, Lucille Ayers, Ruth Wise (David) and Amy Collins; brother, Dean Street (Carol); and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Durham-Hensley Nursing Home, Amedisys Hospice of Greeneville and Mountain Home Veteran Administration for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Limestone United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Waddell and Rev. Parker Street officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Saturday prior to the service. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Street, Gary Street, Andy Bowser, Walter “Gippy” Martin, Marty Aiken and Ronald Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Arrowood, Edwin Remine, Floyd Ayers and Peter Jurgel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Limestone United Methodist Church for Mary’s Meals, 191 Opie Arnold Rd. Limestone, TN 37681 or Philadelphia Cemetery Association c/o Larry Dayton, 560 Snapps Bridge Rd, Limestone, TN 37681.
