James Ralph Kilby

Mr. James Ralph Kilby, age 84, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Kilby was the son of the late James Horace & Effie Masters Kilby. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, David Wayne Kilby, three brothers, Frank “Gene” Kilby, Blaine Kilby and Jerald Kilby.
He was a member and elder of Bethel Church of Christ, Jonesborough.
Mr. Kilby graduated from Lamar High School in 1955. He was a member of the Tennessee National Guard for 25 years and retired from ETSU Carpenter Shop after 23 years of service. He was a Charter Member of the Lamar Ruritan.
Survivors include his wife, of 62 years, Anna Lee Arrowood Kilby; four children, Rick Kilby (Peggy), Dennis Kilby, Les Kilby (Karen) and Nancy Smith (Wayne); nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Gillman; sister-in-law, Dean Kilby; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Minister Terry Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, April 30, 2018 at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Center 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105.
