Ava Louise Costigan Normandin, (known by her family as Toodles), 72, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family. A native of Dublin, Virginia, she is survived by her loving husband of 28 years to David J. Normandin, Sr., of Jonesborough, Tennessee, a son, Gerald (Jerry) F. Danner, Jr. wife Charleen, and grandsons, Dylan and Evan of Dublin, Virginia, a daughter, Teresa Danner Branch, husband Frank, and grandson Andrew of Telford, Tennessee, a step-daughter, Teresa Flemings, husband Richard of Bristol, VA and grandchildren Wendy Cox, Robin Stoots, Casey Blankenship, a step-daughter, Michelle Normandin Lawson and husband Robert of Austinville, VA and grandchildren Emily Cook and Danielle Chandler and a step-son, David (DJ) Normandin, Jr. of Wytheville, Virginia. Several great-grandchildren. .
Ava is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Arnett, husband Randy of Richmond, Virginia, Peggy McPeak of Radford, Virginia, and brother Carl Costigan, wife Patty, of Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her late sister Mildred Mathis, sister Betty Clements, the brother Sonny Costigan. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Ara Costigan. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews.
Ava grew up in Radford and attended Radford High School. She retired from Inland Motors in Radford, Virginia. She missed her work family very much. She loved to travel, especially the sister trips and read her Danielle Steele novels. Her love was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was loved by all and she never met a stranger.
Visitation and service will be held at Stevens Funeral home on Monday April 2, 2018. The family will receive family and friends at 11am, with service starting at 12 noon. Graveside services will follow at 1pm at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, Virginia.
