Mr. Byron “Bear” Weems, 66, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Weems was born in Greene County, son of the late Denver and Juanita Hensley Weems. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Aaron Hyatt and a sister Anglash Dykes.
Mr. Weems was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Service Star in addition to the Vietnam Service Medal.
Survivors include his wife Judy Weems, Jonesborough, a daughter Angela Hyatt and finance’ Clayton Osborne, a son Joseph Nelson, a sister Brenda Shelton and husband Gary, three grandchildren, Dalton, Austin, and Jackson, two granddaughters, Sarah and Courtney, three great grandchildren, Trinity, Alexander, and Ryder, mother-in-law, Bonnie Eaton, four nephews, his beloved dog Bullet and many friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Weems will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 6pm at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 till 6 pm prior to the service. Interment services will be Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2 pm at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
