Harden Slagle

Mr. Harden Slagle, 88, of Limestone, Tenn. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 28, 2018 at the Waters nursing home in Johnson City, Tenn.
Born in Jonesborough, Tn. to Lem and Savannah Slagle, he was one of 19 children. He lived most of his life in Jonesborough, Tn. and Asheboro, N.C. Harden was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Slagle.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Speedway Auto Glass for 25 years. He enjoyed working on cars and remodeling houses in his spare time. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Savannah, or as he would say “Tinkerbell”.
Harden leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Dennis Hansen, a son and daughter-in-law Lemuel and Cindy Slagle, and a granddaughter, Savannah Slagle “Tinkerbell”. He is also survived by sweet sisters; Dorothy Norris of North Carolina and Nora Walls of Jonesborough, brothers; Weldon Slagle and John Slagle with wife Betty Slagle both of Jonesborough, as well as many nieces and nephews and many friends.
A very special thank you to Teresa Yokley his sweetheart and wonderful caregiver. She was truly like a daughter to him. Also, a very special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their loving care. Thank you to John Moore and Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, for being there and for all your help and support.
A Visitation will be from 1 till 2 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough with funeral services at 2 pm then Harden will be laid to rest at Washington County Memorial Gardens in Boones Creek following the service.
