We lost a pioneer in American Rockabilly. Buried at Mountain Home VA cemetery with full color guards, wepray that Hugh is high on the mountain in peace. Born and raised in Memphis TN, he went on to be a prolific songwriter and member of the Memphis Songwriters Association. He worked at SUN records and found his musical roots as a teenage neighbor of Elvis Presley when the Presley family were living on Getwell Street in the mid Fifties. Hugh Knoblock went on to record a major 45 rpm record, "Betty Jean/Misery" on Artists International records.
