Many years have passed since the last time I saw 'Scottie', the young boy vying for attention along with his baby brother in the midst of a gaggle of silly girls having fun during a slumber party with his sisters. Such a sweet family. Prayers are lifted for comfort, peace and understanding during your time of sorrow. Love in Christ, Bryan and Twyla South

To Sandy, Ann, Laura, Kris, Steve, Rebecca, Amanda and extended families: Words are not enough to express how deeply sorry I am at Scott's passing, and I know that I cannot truly fathom your sorrow. Scott was a great man and a loyal friend. I so cherished our time together growing up as kids--even for just those few days in Maryville every summer--always finding mischief and relating almost as second "brothers." I know you all miss him dearly, and I most certainly will share in this loss. Shelly, Collin, Allison and I send our sincere love and prayers.

Scott was blessed with a beautiful family. There can be no more beautiful, sweeter and compassionate daughter than Amanda. I have the privilege of singing with her in our church choir. I also had the privilege of visiting with her Dad, Scott, during a break our choir took between performance sets in December, 2016. We were discussing the weather, football, etc, but he kept bringing the conversation back to our musical presentation and HIS daughter! I had commented that Amanda's voice is so clear, pure and lyrical, and that she is a wonderful addition to the choir. Scott beamed as he told me that "you only know a little about that" and recounted that "we get to hear her sing in the shower, in the yard, all around the house...all the time. We LOVE hearing her sing!" He explained that she is very modest...almost shy. He added that perhaps we would get to hear her sing more as time went on! My heart goes out to all of the family. I just wanted Amanda to know, however, that her Dad shared his deep love for her on that evening in 2016 with me, someone he barely knew. Amanda, I trust you can find a bit of comfort knowing your singing brought him joy! Blessings to you.
