Mrs. Erma L. Barnes, age 73, Greeneville, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Johnson City and daughter of the late Willie & Geneva Brown Vance. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Barnes, a brother, Dulaney Vance and a sister, Nadine Vance.
She was a member of Crossroads Church in Greeneville.
Mrs. Barnes loved being a nurse and was a loving mother.
Survivors include seven children, Janie Caldwell (Danny), Ruth Barnes, Joe Jones (Steph), Louise Barnes, Cliff Barnes (Amy), Artie Irwin (Lori) and Erma Gunzenhauser (Zack); large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren including a special newborn, Tesla Gunzenhauser; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and nurses Angie and Kathy, for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor David Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Saturday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Greeneville.
Pallbearers will be Zack Gunzenhauser, Artie Irwin, Ronnie Hyder, Jeremy Workman, Bryan Workman and Johnny Hurley. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Galbreath and Danny Caldwell.
