Dear Aunt Nagatha, Every summer when I was a kid we could come down to Tennessee to visit Grandma and Grandpa and the rest of dad’s family. We would always come to your house some time during the week. I remember the Nolichucky River, the devil’s looking glass and those cool old bridges. I remember the beautiful tobacco fields, country songs on the radio, and the Mountain Dew sign at the corner store. I remember the hilly road you lived on. Your house was on a hill with lots of property and a long driveway with a carport. You had a piano in the front room. There was a bee infested shack in the field out back. The blacktop in Tennessee was different from Michigan. The embedded stones were larger for some reason. Your food was amazing. There was so much, and it was great!!! We were truly blessed. I remember Ricky was a Washington Redskin’s fan because he had Redskin stuff in his bedroom. I remember Uncle Cy walking into the house. He was a towering man in a Pepsi uniform. I thought that was pretty cool because my dad was also a towering man but he wore a Coke uniform. They had a lot in common. They both drove big soda pop trucks!!! I kinda liked the colors of the Pepsi uniform over Coke’s back then but I have to give it up to my dad now for sentimental reasons. I later learned that Uncle Cy’s nickname was “Tuffy.” If I have the story right, he had to walk miles in a snow blizzard to get home when he was a one year old baby and that’s how he got his nickname... or maybe his mom carried him and he stayed nice and warm in her bosom. If I got this story wrong, please, somebody set the story straight. I just want to say, from the up-north Whaley’s: my mom Barbara, brother Kevin and me, our thoughts and prayers are with you and David and your family. I can see my dad and Uncle Cy sipping an ice cold soda right now in heaven. Thank you all for the wonderful memories. Uncle Cy will always be remembered in our hearts. With much love, Scott

A DEAR COUSIN, along with, his sisters, Louise & Alma Ruth. A precious wife, Nagatha.....So many fond memories of their mother, my mom's sister, Katie....very close but time separated us over the years but those memories and Love will remain there forever.....Love and Prayers to Tuffy's family......

Nagatha & family, My heart is so sad for all of you, you have my deepest sympathy. It's so hard losing a family member but trust in God & he'll get you through it.
