Mrs. Brenda Kay Weems “Sally” Laws, age 73, Limestone, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Mrs. Laws was born in Greene County and daughter of the late Doug & Mildred Ricker Weems. She was also preceded in death by infant twin brothers, Charles Edward & Harley Lee Weems, grandparents, Jake & Mary Ricker, life-long friend, Joyce Rice McGhee, brothers-in-law, Albert Laws, Jr. and James Lee Laws and sisters-in-law, Thelma Church and Carole Norton.
Mrs. Laws graduated in 1961 from Sulphur Springs High School.
She and her husband, Tommy, were Cross Country Truck Drivers, having driven for 27 years. She also drove a school bus for 10 years for the Washington County School System before retiring. She was an avid news reader. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed watching her grandson Tyler play sports.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Tommy E. Laws, Limestone; daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi Laws & David A. Hensley, Limestone; and a grandson, Tyler Brett Pierson, Limestone; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brenda Chandler (Lynn), Linda Linkous (Jackie), Daryl Laws (Christine), Mary Katherine Miller (J.W.), George Laws (Gartha), Edna Norton and Callie Laws; lifelong friend, Joyce McMackin, Fall Branch; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Johnson City Medical Center ICU and Vanderbilt University Medical Center for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Clarence Gammill and Pastor Seth Weese officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Laws, Jeff Laws, Jeremiah Linkous, Tommy Dale Chandler, Larry Crum and Zackery Crum.

Tommy, Mitzi and Tyler, My heart goes out to you and the rest of Brenda's family. She was a truly beautiful person inside and out.
